George Norcross (yes, that South Jersey political boss) was part of the Inquirer ownership group until he was forced out in a highly publicized feud that involved the firing of the paper's top editor, so yeah.

I think one thing people far away from Spokane (or even close to it) don't realize is that it is a vibrant media town with one family-owned weekly, a former family-owned daily now turned nonprofit, and a worker-owned media outlet. And that's just print media!

That’s quite impressive for a city the size of Spokane, when many larger cities have media wastelands. Unfortunately those areas have replaced journalism with social media and we are worse off.
