Wheelchairs are
1) Expensive
2) Not trivial to replace
3) Often customized to the person's specific needs, adding to time/$$ to replace
4) Covered by insurance only Once per "x" years (x = 1-5)
5) Vital to a person's function and QOL

Airlines are lucky to only cover repair or wc costs.

Not only do these airlines want to be able to treat people with disabilities terribly, they are trying to say that the government doesn’t have the power to regulate conditions of commercial air travel. First they’re coming for people with wheelchairs but if they get their way they won’t stop there
