The biggest take away for me was the pre-war years. You may have seen people banging on about that 'Hooray for the blackshirts' front page. It's so much worse than that. It's so much than you could ever imagine. The paper was effectively Nazi propaganda for years.

It's interesting how attempts by Nazi Germany to court the UK media and royals in the 1930s have totally dropped out of the public consciousness. We were very close to being taken over by Nazi's without them having to fire a shot, and the Daily Mail was front and centre in the attempts.
