Mr Macron deserves our respect for his unwavering support of Ukraine. He didn’t fawn over Trump in the Oval Office and has stuck to his principles. More importantly he represented the French people in his discussions with the US. Focused on the issue rather than seeking beneficial treatment.

At the moment France and the U.K. are taking the lead jointly on Ukraine. Germany has a large role to play but is also focussed on bringing its Armed Forces up to date after many years of neglect (even more so than the UK)
