The U.S. president has now chosen to throw America to Putin’s side and is more than willing to see this war end on Russian terms. www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...

I'm about to drop a piece at The Atlantic on this Pentagon purge. As I warned, Trump is capturing Justice, Intelligence, the military. This is praetorianism, pure and simple.

None of this has anything to do with effectiveness, or “lethality,” or promoting “warfighters," or any other buzzwords. It is praetorianism, plain and simple, and it is an assault on our military and our democracy. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Imagine dedicating your whole life to defending this nation only for this draft dodging Russian stooge & his deranged Apartheid con man to just end your career in a move to make the apparatus a personal defense force

“A lot” BUT DEFINITELY NOT ALL

Democrats should go to all these ruby red and vulnerable GOP districts where voters are upset at Trump and Musk and court them. Full court press.

another great example along with Wired and Teen Vogue of how real journalism these days can be a lot braver at outlets where no one is trying to get in good with the White House press secretary they’re out here with us, reporting on what’s happening to us all, instead of trying to get inside access

I’m really starting to think Trump’s literal plan is to take humanity with him to the grave

"I'll kill for you, sir." — Donald Trump's handpicked chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

We can't afford air traffic controllers, but we can afford a $200 million government ad campaign thanking Trump. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

@washingtonpost: Officials with the General Services Administration told staff that probationary workers who took the Trump administration’s deferred resignation offer would not necessarily be paid through Sept. 30, going back on a guarantee made to all federal workers.

OH WHAT A SURPRISE!

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire

Of the Chiefs of Staff, vice chiefs of staff, and judge advocates general of the three branches, Trump fired all the women and Black people.

It turns out a very bad way to avoid fascism is to make sure people don’t call it fascism until it’s too late

Kanye West, who recently launched a swastika shirt, calls Steve Bannon’s “Roman salute” fun

This military purge is about Trump installing loyalists in every senior role, just as he filled his cabinet with sycophants and enablers willing to carry out his dangerous and illegal orders. This won’t end well for our country.

We are already at the ‘purging the generals and replace them with loyalists’ part of the Trump second term, just five weeks in. Totally normal. Not dangerous at all

Regardless of how much coverage it gets, Trump aiming to install a military command that places loyalty to him above loyalty to the constitution needs to be a much bigger story.

Even the threat of doing it should kill it

If any of our former NATO or Five Eyes allies have intelligence data and assessments, which surely they must, about the background of the leader of their new strategic adversary, the United States, now is as good a time as any to release them, subject to protection of methods and sources, of course.

This!!

Absolutely correct. Most voters still have NO idea what is really happening

WHERE DID THE TURMOIL COME FROM???

No matter how preposterous, the Times headlines nearly every Trump story as if it were written by the White House comms team.

The Joint Chiefs don't change with a new president. Supposed to be impartial, nonpartisan. Until now. Trump fired the Chair, Gen. Charles Brown (because he's Black), Navy chief Lisa Franchetti (for being a woman), and the 3 top Army, Navy, and Air Force lawyers (because they say follow the law).

A core problem here is that like many things, the public discourse is totally playing on the right's terms. It's not "DEI" to research gender/racial inequality. DEI is a propaganda phrase to denote unnecessary excess in the mind of the public, like HR trainings. That's not what they're eliminating.

Girkin, ex-commander of the so-called "DNR," wrote from a Russian prison, stating the war won’t end soon. He stressed Ukraine’s resilience, fighting as an equal. "We failed to crush them, and they won’t yield territory," he underscored.

A Russian films a wrecked convoy near Sudzha, Kursk region, taken out by Ukrainian drones, complaining that their EW systems are useless. Ukrainian fiber-optic drones cut right through their jamming. Looks like another batch of "unmatched" technology just went up in smoke.

Occupied Makiivka. Russian military jail, dubbed the "cold pit" by the occupiers themselves. An imprisoned Russian soldier’s video exposes brutal conditions and the leadership’s total disregard.

A Russian evacuation group recorded Ukrainian drones striking their equipment on the "Road of Death" near Vyshneve. After seeing this footage, the Ivan Franko Group shared their perspective, showcasing the battle from the drone operator's viewpoint.

It’s so appalling the media normalizes this fascist freak
