We already knew this but the plan is to deport American citizens. *TRUMP: WOULD LIKE TO GET HOMEGROWN CRIMINALS OUT OF THE US TOO

The student journalists at the Harvard Crimson have really excellent coverage of this, which both informs and refuses to back down from what’s happening including context on Columbia’s surrender. Thanks to the people who linked it in my quotes! www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

An firm, open commitment to the destruction of habeas corpus— the creation of a new rule that says anyone the administration orders ICE to seize can be shoved onto a flight to a torture prison in another country and there's nothing any US court can do about it— destroys constitutionalism. 2/

People who write things like this should be put in straitjackets locked in padded rooms and shown as museum exhibits on Sundays

fwiw, i think jain's fine and shouldn't be included in this list, but people have entirely valid reasons for disliking the others, and those others have made the choice *for themselves* that they'd rather not try to compete in this particular marketplace of ideas

these plaintive, boring cries for "ideological diversity" always rest on the idea that white guys with podcasts are owed a forum in which to share their views without pushback, and it's just fucking nonsense, man. don't like being yelled at on bluesky? git gud, that's a skill issue

like, i'll separate the legit violent harassment out from the rest, that shouldn't have any place anywhere, but, otherwise, it's *on these guys* to prove their merits with their audience here, and they've failed or refused to do so, that's *their* choice

It's important to remember that at the start of the Ukraine War he was one thousand percent in the tank for the russkies

listen, i want all workers to win and succeed, but we've been hearing about auto workers in the midwest for thirty fucking years with barely a peep about, like, home health aides or janitors or baristas, and guess which one of these four can afford a mortgage

i'm not saying that he's dying or something, don't get your hopes up, it just strikes me as weird timing and they're obviously trying to plant that he's healthy as a horse, which in trump world, is usually a sign that the exact opposite is going on

also, i mean, he looks fucking terrible now, especially in settings that aren't staged, though he's been looking like dogshit for years at this point

it still just boggles my mind that he has been in the public eye for at least five decades and he's still a blank projection slate for large swaths of the american public and the press, he's not subtle, he's never *been* subtle

I watch pretty much all the Olympics anywhere I can get them. Absolutely refuse to do golf because I associate it with lazy entitled assholes of which trump is the logical endpoint. Add in the Saudis and that's just confirmation of it.

This is correct. And it's important for people with a lot of followers to state clearly because that really does influence my responses! If I'm feeling remotely punchy but do enjoy seeing their thoughts, you best believe I self censor to not get blocked.

Absolutely the best way on the planet to put it

the republicans haven't lost every single race since the election, but every single race has gone much worse for them than you would expect from a party with an alleged strongman mandate

I cannot express my loathing and antipathy for a "sport" that involves very little actual activity that's obsessively done by CEOs and every president because it's seen as "exclusive." Trump is just the logical endpoint for it and always has been.
