Jesus was crucified because he spent his last week brutally criticizing the Temple leadership (closest analogue to today's CEO's) for predatory economic practices....didn't kill them, but called them out for "devouring widow's houses" and advocated defunding the Temple! (Ref. work of William Herzog)
