It's a pretty wide net, because archaeogaming is a very diverse subfield! From using games to interpret historical/archaeological data, investigating digital reconstructions for research & public engagement, or addressing games as archaeological sites.

We're also interested in showcasing notable archaeogaming projects, sharing technical workflows and insights, and generally contributing to a more practical understanding of the field.

There will also be a 30 minute round table discussion after the papers, looking at the challenges of archaeogaming, addressing ethical considerations, player agency, and the potential for games to shape public understanding of archaeology.

The WAC is from 22-28 June and the deadline for paper submission is 31 March. You can also attend the WAC virtually (which I will be doing, because chronic illness), and there's no submission fee, so it's one of the cheapest conference proposals I've come across in recent years.
