I’ve spent a lot of time in Toronto. Every single Canadian I talk to I ask about healthcare. Each & every one of them LOVES it even if they have to wait for elective procedures.
Know why?!
Because it’s:
•NOT TIED TO EMPLOYMENT
•FREE
•EXCELLENT SERVICE
•DOES NOT BANKRUPT THEM
•HUMANE

Seems like we're getting similar results for vastly different costs.
She had outpatient surgery to remove a uterine cyst. After deductibles and copays, it still cost me (after the $760 per month), over $7200. And that didn't cover the yearly deductible
I've had two eye surgeries and ongoing, long term treatment for vision in one eye. Not free, we pay through our taxes, but certainly NO debt or financial hardship.
Our system certainly has some flaws, but all in all, it's pretty fantastic.
Poor rich people. CEOs have feelings too. We should just give them all our money.
Remove profit from
a basic human right
and fund a fair system.
One where we are all
equal in the Doctors
eyes. No que jumping.
I refuse to be like our neighbours. No one in Canada should lose their home for an illness. 🤷🏽♀️
I seen first hand how it works and it's awesome!!
I had to have emergency retinol laser surgery (with no insurance) while I was in Bali.
Here's a breakdown of the whole thing.
10am seen in their ER. Packed with hundreds of people.
Total cost (without insurance, in Bali!) $360 USD!!!
It works people, it works!!!
If the doctors weren't making a lot of money, they wouldn't do it, right?
They did some tests & waited another month. By then I had gone to chiropractor & my own past athletic & anatomy understanding I had put it in place again but there was damage due to length of time…
It’s not as great in US

If our healthcare system were ever in danger of being axed, I would be a single-issue voter. Healthcare coverage is non-negotiable for me.
But if that motherfucker Poilievre gets his way, we’re in trouble. I’m on my own fair share of meds too for depression, anxiety, auto-immune disorder, and diabetes.
Feel special?
GOT IT?
The ACA is the law but it's missing two things that keep it from being universal. Contrast that with empty slogans like "M4A".
The people were great!
I can confirm that to be true.
🇨🇦 we are grateful (generally speaking).
I heard that back in the day the people were given a choice between cheap gas or cheap healthcare, and they chose gas, is that true?
And now, having never used ChatGPT and having had Google fail me on searching for this topic, I see its advantage for the first time! Thanks! 😊
Meds that I pay $36/mo for I hear people in the US pay in the thousands per month! How anyone can afford to live is beyond me!
She ended up paying nothing. She even got home visites and everything was covered.
You guys are lucky👍🏻
I keep imagining I can feel it growing... every day.
For others, though….
It just inherently has a lot of potential for abuse.

There are many (many) improvements that could be made, for sure especially dental, mental health and social care, but we are all grateful to be fortunate
My dgtr has had several surgeries on her R hand, a knee surgery with the other knee to follow shortly.
Ive had 2 cataract surgeries with no complications.
No long wait times + no bill that will bankrupt us. 😁 🇨🇦
Here’s a question:
When you owe taxes, like back taxes, let’s say… let’s say a lot of money…
When you’re carried into a hospital with a heart scare or something, does the tax collector come with a clipboard and ask for you to pay up before they admit you?
Our hospitals and healthcare officials haven't got a clue what our tax situation is.
Peace of mind.
Americans with no coverage live in fear.
If they get sick, I can get sick. If they can easily go to the doctor, I'm less likely to get sick.

Canadians: Ok.
Americans: I’m sure I have tape and popsicle sticks. And whiskey. And Advil.
Why, that goes against everything America stands for.
