I live in a working class neighborhood, and after the devastation of Hurricane Helene the only real (property) crime that happened were some little kids who hit some corner stores for vapes and beer. No widespread looting, no social disorder, lots of neighbors looking out for each other though.

Odds and ends remain. My house survived the Thomas fire and people were caught stealing pots & yard art from houses that were burned to the ground,also trying to loot from partially burned homes and homes that survived but we're evacuated for an extended period. We were out of our house for 2 months
