A sentence that actually makes perfect sense in Britain:

“Excuse me, sorry, do you mind if I just… thanks”

And in Canada, we present:

"No, yeah, right, for sure."

Complete with the sideways hand and arm sliding in front of the addressee to do/grab/intervene :)

It makes sense in Canada, too. 😁

And in Danish we would just say:"Jeg rækker lige over her. Tak"
= I'll just reach across. (Then grab the item) Thank you.

Translation: I'm coming in, hold tight
