The soundtrack, hands down. The new Distant Worlds production of "Ascension" gave me full-body chills listening to it for the first time, it's incredible.
The story was very believable with how the dialogue was written and performed, alongside the terrific direction and music it made for very memorable scenes
The amount of FFV-isms in the game. Customizing Clive's Eikon loadout is an Action oriented take on customizing Jobs for the Party. Mid and Omega also return.
Also, the little pins/badges that NPCs give you give me FFII vibes with the whole Ask/Learn thing.
Rare game with a useful dog. Like the dog opens up a ton of potential combos and becomes integral to the combat. It serves a purpose beyond looking cute and being pettable. Good dog.
World building. Whether in side quests or the environment itself, there's so much intricate detail, so much history, so much causality, and yet it still manages to leave a good bit to the imagination. It's quite a feast if you're like me and enjoy speculating.

It was really good.

Cid Telamon.
These characters were epic & memorable. 🔥
But specifically? The combat. Dear god, the combat.
It felt mature from start to finish with a serious tone throughout. Something we tend to only see in older Ivalice titles really.
It was a welcomed change for me in JRPGs. (Don’t get me wrong, love me some lighthearted stuff too.)

If there's one thing that should absolutely be in the next Final Fantasy game, it's this.
That’s very much up there with “Off my throne, Jester. The king sits there.”
But also it’s just a game so… opinions! That’s what we have

Uncle Byron was a delight!
Just being able to read-reread, and read again all the world’s lore? Chef’s kiss.
