I work with young people and there is NOTHING for them to do in England. They can’t hang out as they get moved on, cinema or bowling or even just McDonalds is expensive - and that’s if you can get there. We have made leisure centres member only too. Plus schools all use apps and hw is online.

A really big difference I noticed between Germany and the UK this summer was that teens were barely on their phones and spent hours and hours swimming at local municipal pools with their friends or playing informal sports, often for just a couple of euros. We have few comparable facilities here.
