absolutely true but a carbon tax discourages investment. By taking money from business at those rates, less is available for investment and inventions. The carrot is better than the stick. Don’t believe it? look at the last Canadian polling numbers.

except for the decade(s) it takes to build them .... and the cost of the electricity from them. Renewables are much cheaper, simpler and faster. Nuclear is fine .... but let's put all our energy sources on the same track for tax subsidies.

Funny thing happens to “baseload” when solar and wind ramp up. You end up with many hours of many days with zero need for “baseload.” You need intermittent sources to balance the load over time - not big continuous sources.

It took 70 years for women to obtain the right to vote from 1850 to 1920 or so. Every generation picked up the mantle and kept going. We need to understand this and stop acting like these issues are a light switch which we can turn on in three months or three years.

The wealthy don't care. They can buy yachts to ride out flooding,buy expansive ranches to combat food insecurities,build bunkers for migration insecurities,or rockets to Mars. They are building next Gen workers with humanoid robots. The bottom 90% will soon be viewed as obsolete.
