A good friend of mine who flies too much for work has had this happen to him twice already this year.

I was just on American flight 3083, for LaGuardia. As we touched ground, the plane suddenly sped up and climbed back up. The plane strained to quickly gain altitude. After something like five harrowing minutes, the pilot finally announced, “there was a plane in the ground that was too close to us.”

I’m taking Amtrak for an upcoming trip halfway across the U.S. to visit family. Trying to limit flying or, if possible, avoid it all together for now - not only for personal safety but also to help send a message to the airlines to speak UP about the gutting of the FAA
