Depression era Americans didn't have fox telling them that starving to death is a good thing, & the wrath they feel should be directed at the poor & minorities.
Again, please look at the history of the Grapes of Wrath and its history as banned book. Your reply and screenshot were very misleading. Sorry I missed the nuance
Like I said I did a search. There were some bans yes. BUT!
My issue was that the original post I replied to gave tbe impression that it was currently banned.
Truth is antagonistic to the cause of the oligarchs. That reads like parts of the bible during end of times. I wonder why they didn’t ban the bible; killing 1st born children, rape, murder, incest, etc written to instill fear for sociological control. A lot of evangelists got rich by pushing guilt.
That's very true. I listened to the stories my parents told of rationing during WW2. Big reason I have been stocking up on items since beginning of the year.
My how things change, these were all required reading when I was in school
To Kill a Mockingbird
Grapes of Wrath
The Diary of Anne Frank
The Jungle
All I remember is that these classics cemented in me a love of books and reading

When I becomes we, that’s when they need to bomb us.
Something like that.
I can’t believe it’s banned. I know they are keen to ban Zinn’s History. Which is why people need to read it.
Currently the focus is on queer and black empowerment subjects but if they get their way it might be someday.
