So my post asking for Faroe Island recommendations resulted in a bit of a storm. So we made it into an episode. Is it ever immoral to visit a country just because we don't like everything they do?

That you choose to travel (I could agree that you need to travel to a much greater extent than most) makes a statement.
Where you choose to travel makes an additional statement.
Disparaging comments about UK holidays really don't help.
We need to travel less, be discriminating, interrupt less.
- Mulafossar - popular for a reason!
- Fiska cafe in Sandavagur
- Tjornuvik
- Sandur, esp cliff walk above Soltuvik
- Paname cafe/bookshop in Torshaven
- Vesturkirkjan if you like churches
A question of personal morality? Yes.
Is it immoral to visit the Faroe Islands? of course not.
Does it conflict with my personal morality? Absofuckinglutely.
It's why I won't go to places like China or Israel but, of course, others are free to make their own minds up.
Yes, USA has the death penalty but that is not the same as slaughtering innocent whales and dolphins ‘just for tradition’.
They'd quite like the 'let live' bit.
No one is hurt or intimidated, it's a positive way to change the world for the better.
An actual menu.
Which it often isn't.
Don't take the words of an activist as gospel.
It's not immoral to visit, but given your position, it's prudent to provide a full picture.
I’m still torn 😐
"People advised to never leave house again".
@lewisgoodall.com, would you have gone to Apartheid South Africa on holiday in the 80s? Why/why not? Many of the broad arguments you made on the show are the same...
I had no idea Lewis Goodall was so petulant. Constantly interrupting Dominic Dyer with silly comments.

Makes me rethink The News Agents.
Most rich nations gave up cruel practices as they be ame civilised.
One small point. The killing of an entire pod wipes out an entire gene line, there is no control over culling weak stock. Wildlife is in decline already
A big chunk of our sporting/social calendar is centred around horse racing, and people object to that based on their individual moral compass, yet people don’t boycott
Everyone has a line and their individual choices should be respected.
For balance can we get Jon Sopel to defend his airmiles? 😂
Great opportunity for a long form discussion on the topic just saw Dominic Dyer subjected to ‘shock jock’ jibes with the lack of room to discuss.
Clearly a nerve was very raw, embarrassingly so.
The activist was terrible in getting across their point, desperately going off-topic multiple times and never taking a breath. Unfortunately this is typical grifter technique.
But you holiday where you want.
