I just finished Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. @neveahfs.bsky.social recommended it and it was very worth reading but did some significant psychic damage given the topic (breakdown of society) and when it was set (now). All of the CWs, it was brutal. But also excellent. Oof.
