Sitting member of Congress agrees that we live in a "gerontocracy," saying: "Young people have seen this country run by an older and older and older generation."

The voting age is still 18 though, so, y’know. Maybe we can’t choose a president because of the electoral college, young whipperanappers can sure vote for younger versions of everybody else…
He’s right on some things but is confused on others. We have seen Biden become physically frail but with no apparent mental dysfunction. We have seen Trump remain physically strong comparatively but mentally diminished. I know which condition is more concerning.
There is a difference between being old and a mental dysfunction. Don’t forget he has a speech impediment which is harder to control. But he doesn’t speak gobbledygook like Trump has- making up nonsense words or unable to complete a thought.
One of the great things about our amazing healthcare system is that if you can't afford a retirement home once you start slowing down you can just join Congress.
Lots of stimulating community and activities there for older minds to enjoy!
Nobody’s job is being taken away because of *illegal* aliens. They live in the ocean……. The ocean is governed by international law. That’s where the aliens live get a group.
So this is the first time I’ve heard this wiener speak. He is not long for the public consciousness - America needs their racist psychopaths to carry a little more oomph in personality and self-assuredness in order to stay relevant
Man, I really like your work. To me, age isn’t the problem. Bad ideas and bad politics are the problem. Entrenched and untouchable politicians are a problem, yes. Josh Hawley is young and entrenched. Vote, people. Encourage imperfect people to run who you agree with more.
The right wing investment banker who said he was "going to bat for President Trump in the public square"? Broken clocks and all that, but look at his own motive. MAGA wants to oust the old fogies to complete their take over of the party, not because it might actually help working class voters. 🙄
Democratic leaders must stop bringing pillows to a knife fight. Do not compromise, find common ground, or reach across the aisle. Bipartisanship doesn't work with fascists. Fuck them as hard as you can. Don't be doormats. Sign the petition.
Maybe we start a movement to just refuse to vote for anyone over 70 regardless of party or policy? They’re never going to pass anything that would actually address the problem on their own.
Not the point. Age can beget wisdom and experience. Youth can be naive. But we don’t need LITERAL individuals with dementia speaking out, they don’t even know what they’re saying come sundown. Not to mention increased chances of passing away. Congress should be more representative of our population.
Because one of them was so ill she literally had to be placed in an assisted living after a dementia diagnosis? Not to mention we see it in Joe? It’s a progressive disease that you slow down by reducing stress. Also sundowning is a thing.
I never said they all are. However Biden and Granger do. That’s two too many. Given my grandfather had it and I worked as a patient tech, dementia is pretty serious. The stress only accelerates it but also means you are not of sound mind to make those decisions. The point isn’t that older people
Ok, but the party largely only wants to support older candidates and actively works to undermine younger ones during primaries, so you're only allowed to vote for who they want. So what we do instead is rightfully call them out for the greedy powerhungry bastards they are.

The problem is the ultra wealthy buying all the politicians and making them pass laws that benefit themselves and hurting us in the process.
That is the problem.
You’re joking, right?
He got pushed out of the last presidential race because his mental decline was too obvious to continue covering up.
Lots of stimulating community and activities there for older minds to enjoy!
What Dems really need are term limits on committee chairs.

Age isn’t the problem, capitalism is the problem.
