I just learned that one of my former bosses has died. She gave her whole life to the nonprofit I used to work at. She was so supportive & instrumental in our programs’ survival of the first Mango presidency. She only just retired 1.5 years ago. Barely got to enjoy it 😭 - ThreadSky

Sorry for your loss. 😢 One of my biggest fears is that I either won’t live to retirement age or won’t get to live long enough to enjoy it. I’m sorry your former boss didn’t get to enjoy their time enough.

Seeing the way the most senior staff there worked themselves to the bone, long after retirement age, was one thing that prompted me to leave 4 years ago. I had already given 18 years and was burnt out. I didn’t want to work that hard anymore at what R’s here are constantly trying to dismantle.

I can only imagine. The burnout is real. It is disheartening, but true, so many people(like urself & senior staff) work & have worked so hard to help their community, & it's all being dismantled. Sometimes I'm lost 4 words. But I am happy you were able to redirect your life. You deserve space 2 rest
