Not sure I've ever seen a player who has been traded and then returns to face his old team get as emotional as Luka did just now during his tribute video in Dallas. Damn.

Question: is it normal for a GM to hide in the tunnel with security at a home game or is what Nico Harrison doing unusual? Have there been other basketball GMs in this position of angering fans to this extent?
Well that seems understandable by West. And like something I might do, lol. But hiding with security due to irate fans seems like a different type of scenario.
Everyone needed the closure, but damn, Mavs fans are still pi$$Ed! Luka would've never left, and the fans embraced him even if they never won the big dance.
GM is cooked!
He was just a kid when he was drafted by Dallas
He is one of the most authentic players in the league
Though it hurt to watch Luka get emotional, it was right on character for him.
He is awesome
Mavs front office is stupid!!!
I despise the Lakers, but for Luka tonight I'm rooting for them. That was a gut punch watching that kid bawl during the video. The cynical part of me thinks it was on purpose to get him emotional and throw off his game.
I think it was totally just the owners that made it happen not the front office. They only really care about making DFW the next Vegas. They’ll just move the team there after not investing and tanking for a few seasons.
When Paul La Duca played his first game back at Dodger Stadium after he was traded to the Marlins, he received a 10 minute standing ovation from the crowd. He was batting second and the ovation was so long the umpire brushed the plate to give him extra time.
I know he's a multimillionaire and everything but I can't help but feel bad for him. He wanted to stay in Dallas his whole career. The trade will never make sense to me

I enjoyed the (modest) successes of the 80s, suffered through the 90s and rode the wild ride of the 00s to finally see a chip in '11.
But I've also been living in LA for over 20 years. After this trade, I might finally have to become a Lakers fan.
As a Warriors fan, I should want the Lakers to lose, but F that tonight. I hope Luka goes off on the Mavs.
