Sat down with Over the Garden Wall again recently, wildly eclectic in tone and inspiration. Effortlessly shifts from irreverent modern comedy to fairytale horror while drawing from a couple centuries of Americana and absolutely nails all of it. Instantly timeless.

Sure, you can be scared of movie monsters, but I don’t feel much connection to any of the characters in those.
On the other hand if you’re sympathetic to Wirt, Greg, and Beatrice and you see the bit of body horror Greg undergoes… oh yes: Nightmare Fuel.
