I just love the video shot by the person exiting the wreck, accepting help from others, exiting ahead of others, while filming. So natch, portrait mode too.
Wow, just unreal. The approach looked ok, until touchdown then everything just went wrong. I’m amazed everyone survived that crash. Could have been ten times worse.
Oh my gosh! Thank you for sharing this.☹️ don’t believe that I’ll ever forget this while landing at Toronto or any other airport throughout my lifetime!
Oh definitely landed on its belly -yeah it looks like definitely the wheels collapsed- so we're going to say mechanical failure in the plane and that tracks.
I am not making any excuses for our administration and the mess they’ve made of the FAA; however, I know us in NH have been having high winds-is that the same for up north? The way the wings rocked back and forth on the approach makes me think it hit some strong wind… But still, way too many issues.
Yeah..we've had two days of snow and blustery high winds up here (I'm in Montreal but was the same in Toronto). Weather is definitely at the top of the list for the accident causes.
It speaks to the skills of the crew, both pilots and flight attendants, that everyone walked away from this crash. And highlights the importance of passengers reading the safety card. Whatever the cause of the crash, likely weather.
Given that this was the only flight to have such troubles, & given Pearson's propensity for crosswinds, it's hard to say exactly what happened til we hear from crew. Maybe the landing gear collapsed, a wing touched the ground, I don't know either. Just grateful that all hands are safe.
It’s too early to presume anything. The facts are not all presented and findings are incomplete. Not everything is as it seems from one video clip. I’ll wait for evidence and professionals to report findings.

Shouldn't the pilots decide not to land there if the wind is to strong?
