While watching the CBC political panel after last night’s debate, my husband spontaneously asked if Rosemary Barton was a Conservative. With each sour face and biased question, Ms. Barton’s destroying a career’s worth of credibility.
Did you watch her tonight? In the pre-debate commentary, Rosemary Barton categorized her exchange with Mark Carney as an "altercation" (defined as a loud disagreement!!). Tonight she used the same word to describe the "altercations" between media fighting against disinformation outlets! 🤬
I don't know if it's true, but I read that the Cons offered Barton a Senate seat, but then lost the election. She's still hoping to collect. Again, don't know if it's true, but watching the body language between her and David Cochrane tonight made me wonder.
I didn’t watch tonight, but Cochrane seemed so uncharacteristically subdued and uneasy sitting next to her before and after the French-language debate. I can no longer see her as credible; unfortunately for the CBC, they’ve given her such prominence that she may damage their credibility as well.
She most certainly did! CBC had to issue an embarrassing correction after she continued to spread misinformation. NO REMAINS of any indigenous child have ever been found ANYWHERE in Canada.
If that’s all that Quebec cares about is how well one’s French language is, then that pisses me off. Poilievre deplorable 20 year track record and him saying he will use the non withstanding clause, Quebec you will have more than a language issue.
You’re missing a whole lot of context and content here. The language thing has had little to no impact here and it drives the bloc crazy. I’m hearing the same concerns from people in French and English, and that’s very bad for Poilievre fortunately.
I hate the spin the so called experts focus on. There are so many other actual concerns, historical facts but speaking a second language and not thinking about it was the topic for the news.
People in Quebec have political intelligence. They pay attention and understand the issues probably more than most provinces in the country. Media has become so Americanized in English Canada - it is emotions based instead of facts based.
Thank you but we have our wing nuts here like everywhere else. Definitely something in the water around Quebec City. Curious to see how those 4-5 ridings turn out this time.

In general, the CBC appears to be so afraid of putting their thumb on the scale that they put their thumb on the scale.
