PM IS RIGHT. A government serves its people, the most vulnerable, at the core of ITS function. A leader that governs to “dispose” of those “unsightly” social needs the population has decided that incarceration, removing rights , is acceptable to Poilievre. He decides the fate of others unjustly
For anyone reading: Carney didn't win yet! If you stay home, PP will win. It’s far better to go out and vote than to go out and protest when it’s too late. 🇨🇦 Polls are guesses, only votes count: TELL YOUR FRIENDS! 𝗩𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵! #canadastrong
I know what it means to have had my Charter Right over ridden by the highest authority in Canada. The cost to me was very high. I was forced into hiding for seven years.
Poilievre is just following the MAGA playbook that if you don't like someone or something just throw them in jail pretending that that "solves" the problem.... not fascist thinking at all! Duh
But don't ever get comfortable with that... just because the Supreme Court in Canada already struck it down before does not mean in today's day that it will still uphold their own decision
Neither complacent nor naive. Our Supreme Court is not ideologically stacked as the SCOTUS is. Still your caution is noted given the age and world that we live in.
I do get your point Albert on saying that our Supreme Court is not stacked in the same way but unfortunately it's getting to that level that many cases don't make BECAUSE the rest of the process is so stacked IN very unconstitutional criminal and malfeasance ways
No disagreement in the overall assessment but I have a level of confidence that the only way for PeePee to overcome those previous decision would be to use the notwithstanding clause… not from the SCC reversal of a previous decision. First hurdle keeping PeePee out of the big chair! Elbows up!
It is a different system for sure it is most definitely a different system I think they have a lot more nooks and crannies to hide a lot of crooks and fannies...
But it's my experience most personally and professionally that the biggest violators of the rights is the Department Justice.. ironic
PP is Mini-Me Trump. If he's elected, we have fallen to the current US depths. A vote for PP is a vote for the loss of "what is" Canada. Carney must win for the soul of Canada. Not hyperbole, but fact. Let's not be trumps America!
Not to mention MANY studies of the effects of such practices in the states that point out you just then have to "grow" the prison system. Crime drops very little.
It's FEAR stoking by Pierre AND the studies on that? Fear is a great motivator as the conservative brain reacts strongly to fear.

Starting with the fact that you don't see many wealthy people incarcerated
Also perpetrated profiling that we don't talk about
