I was buying a PC at Best Buy and the sales guy asked me if I wanted to buy an extended service plan. I asked him what for, he said “it’s in case anything goes wrong after the warranty”.
I replied “well I don’t want to buy it if it’s crap out”
Should have seen his face, priceless.

if it makes you feel better I can guarantee the service worker felt much worse about the interaction than you did, they’re just desperately trying to pay their rent with commissions (probably because their company’s getting squeezed by a hedge fund)

Yes! My son still jokes about a time we went to a store like ten years ago and I told the aggressive sales guy, "thanks I'd just like to look on my own," and he kept trying to sell me on this and that and I just said "bye" and left. Never set foot there again.
