Of course there is no way to Trump-proof the government, but besides the Electoral Count Act, Biden and the D Congress didn’t really do anything. They thought Trump had been slain and things would go back to “normal,” but it was clear after Trump’s acquittal that they wouldn’t.

I’m not talking on a technical basis. If you have enough democrats to do it you’re going to have red state dems and some number of them are going to peel off. You’d need 2/3 so those people don’t get to make the decisions.

I give Biden credit for that stuff. He and his team did some very good things! But the things he got wrong, he got really wrong. The media was very bad, but they didn’t make Biden run for reelection when he wasn’t up to it, abet a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and fail to bring Trump to justice.

And, no one cared about Gaza. Inflation (which had been tamed) and immigration (people hating it) were the big drivers of “swing” voters. Gaza was a niche concern among unreliable voters, it wasn’t a factor.
