I see language defining the obligations being ratified treaty for Ukraine - but only passing reference to the binding nature at the end of the agreement. I assume the US will sign a treaty as well?

I am so confused what the point of all this is. So the US forced Ukraine to create a shared fun where Ukraine sends there own money they can then spend (with approval of the US I assume) on there own infrastructure?

Zero actual commitments to Ukrainian sovereignty and/or security. Didn't see a single mention of the US contributing to the "fund" despite having "joint ownership" by the way.

I hope Zelensky reconsiders, this is extortion.

Let me clarify: despite US/Ukraine joint ownership, the revenues come 100% from Ukraine, and the US government keeps 50%. Sounds perfectly fair to me! Not. The US risks absolutely nothing, if I read it right.

That is also my reading of the text. It suggests that the US has little to no liability in the agreement, a red flag. The deal seems to place a significant burden on Ukraine, with the US government potentially benefiting from 50% of the revenue without taking on any corresponding burden.

I think it's possible that Russia told the US "no peace treaty with Zelenskyy", which is why they're now trying to undermine him. But it's probably more of a personal vendetta by Putin, because Zelenskyy dared to resist. Still, it's unlikely that a successor would be any more lenient towards Russia

Or Zelensky is one of the rare people who cannot be bought off and has the bravery to resist. When attacked he stayed in his place with the Ukranian people. I think that's more it, they will try to play whomever takes over.

This agreement basically includes everything Ukraine has: oil, gas, metals, rare earths, ports.... both government owned and privately owned! Ukraine will be owned by USA, but not protected by it.
