I heard versions of this in the DEI dismantling while serving as a Board of Education member. In a nutshell it was false claims of mismanagement of budget & we shouldn't be spending millions educating Blacks & Brown kids because they are taking away resources from "our" kids & getting too uppity.

After emancipation, ex-enslavers claimed that educating Black Southerners would cause a "negro insurrection." The idea came from the Haitian Rev—that if Black ppl really understood how they were exploited, they wouldn't stand for it. The anti-woke/CRT/DEI GOP repeats this same racist nonsense today.
