As a non historian lover of history I took the time to read this truthful piece by Dr. Horne & it didn't make me hate him or want him to feel guilty for his family's past but applaud his courage. Acknowledging a past that is painful to so many in this country is the first step towards healing.

I heard versions of this in the DEI dismantling while serving as a Board of Education member. In a nutshell it was false claims of mismanagement of budget & we shouldn't be spending millions educating Blacks & Brown kids because they are taking away resources from "our" kids & getting too uppity.
