There *are* right-of-center users on here going about their business and having a good time. The reason they’re not catching insta-blocks is they aren’t whiny trolls.

Harris-voting libertarian-minded dude here. It’s possible to have differences of political opinion and still be civil. Heck, even this libertarian was like “I want a smaller government but not like THAT.” 😀
Left wing libertarian here. I waited over 50 years for GOP to clean up regulations & make government work but it turns out that they want it to be burdensome to make people hate it. Al Gore did more to clean up regulations than any republican & just like HRC & Harris he was too smart for the voters.
I don't know that we're having a good time yet. It feels more like a necessary and somewhat annoying requirement to follow certain left leaning folks I happen to like a lot, but definitely not fun.
Right of center (barely) user here! Voted republican my whole life until 2024. Now I’m an independent who proudly voted blue down ballot. GOP needs a reset.
Vetting is critical for all of us. I have a couple of new followers who may be trouble, but I’m waiting for proof. Our job as good citizens of the world is to help keep each other safe.
And that’s really how it should be. Regardless of how you lean politically, a civil place to meet and talk, share ideas, or just vent, should allow people from all over to contribute. Flocking to a site/location just to instigate, argue, and name-call, F those people.
Some of Trump’s 76 million voters are decent people who are either deluded or uninformed. Winning back this country is going to require turning some of those voters to the side of good sense. If you don’t believe some of those voters can be persuaded, you might as well give up the fight.
That’s my father in law. He’s an immigrant and in 2016 he was vocal in his support. Was still supporting him into 2022/23. My wife talked with him and got him to see how what he was proposing would affect him and those around him. He voted for Harris.
He’s also not the typical Fox News follower, so he was low information and his daughter gave him the information needed to switch from Trump to Harris.
So why did those "decent" people vote for the traitor, the convicted felon, the rapist, and the vile bigot? Let's assume they did for economic reasons, is that worth it to vote for such a man? But good luck with your persuasion crusade.
Seriously. Bit late at this point. Deplorables ensured there are almost no checks or balances on him anymore. May everyone who voted for him get the worst of it right in their teeth, bc millions of people inc. kids who don't deserve what's coming are about to have to pay the price for their folly.
The disgusting thing about the right-wing trolls on X/Twitter (including The Great Troll Elon) is that they feel that they are somehow entitled to active harassment, i.e. they have some sort of constitutional right to come under your posts, hurl insults and you have to respond.
Old enough here to remember time when Right of Center Dems, Left of Center GOP existed in each Party.
If we focus on what we have in common, than what divides. If we do that FIRST, the dividing issues may not seem so insurmountable after all. Be civil, listen more/talk less, maybe get stuff done

Thankfully most of like Adam Kinzinger, Joe Walsh, and Tom Nichols are thoughtful, apologetic, and disdain the orange stain.
