Hmm.. I have been thinking that after Trump and his cronies have terrorised and deported everybody else, he will need a lot of poor, white slaves to actually do the work.
Therein lies the reason it hasn't happened: everyone expects to live in excess. "Abundance" is a problematic word choice given the bells it triggers. Perhaps "sufficient" is enough, if nobody is left out of it in any category.
The general population never sees any benefit from labour saving tech. It’s always deployed as a method of increasing output rather than freeing up more time away from work
There is a reason this stuff is accessible to us in the first place
I agree with that statement.
The thing is that a majority would still choose low risk instead of quality of life.
Living with security, a sense of peace and equality of opportunities should be a standard, can be our way of living. But while it is not, we need to decide better, out of the box…
Which was the con when I was younger “work ur proverbial b@ll@Ck’s off now” because in the future they’d be more leisure, higher incomes, much more security - played us like fiddles those rich, selfish b@st@rds.
I'm seriously considering my exit, because I actually do only exist to help/serve others and pay bills. It appears to be my only purpose. I have no concept of what joy really is. Is it only fiction?
we were lead to believe that silicon valley is solving some kind of problems - excuse me but the only thing that was solved was delivering maximum profit for little social benefit; most people still text anyway, we do not need social media in reality, we need positive social impact
Counterpoint: a very select few should be able to profit immensely off the backs of our labor and livelihoods and live like kings while we toil in the salt mines wherein robots whip us to ensure compliance.

The film talks about how technology will one day become too required
This will also lead to sickness
It is possible to become, far too plugged in
