Update on my move from big tech corp.
Switching back to Firefox(lol, well smaller tech than google?) after a 15 year hiatus has been solid. Some minor inconveniences, but overall it's been a minor change.
Switching to Duck Duck Go as my main search has been interesting..

Though I still need a Chromium enabled browser for some things, I've stuck with Vivaldi over the years which has proven to be fairly solid.
Firefox being based on Netscape code is technically true, but Netscape opensourced it's code and created Mozilla to further develop it in 1998. FF is FOSS too.
DDG just sources its results from big tech.
Please consider @brave.com
search & browser, Mullvad browser, anything other than Firefox

Not that great either, I've head Vivaldi might be a good alternative.
It's rare enough that I can't think of any examples offhand though.

And of course, Firefox

Alright, it's terrible at it.
It's weird, just randomly something blocks the h and then goes away really quickly. I guess I have to pull the key off and see.
Switching to a Linux build - I got it pretty much a direct replacement. Microsoft hasn't pissed me off fully, so I still find myself logging in to my Windows build(photoshop other apps just work better)
Wondering if there's any point in going Samsung for mobile. Ironically Pixel is the easiest phone to de-Google.
I still use it for search sometimes as a Hail Mary when nothing else worked. And even though I do not use YouTube often, it’s hard to replace.
Outside of last ditch effort searches and DIY/instructional videos I think I’m off it as a platform.
That is damn funny that the Pixel is the easiest phone to get off Google. I currently have the Samsung S24 Ultra, I am a huge fan of Samsung's phones.
