Bad first half. Bad ref all game. Team showed some gumption and the result could have been much better or much worse. Thank goodness it wasn’t a must win
Consequence of not being full strength/full pelt. Perhaps proof that we need another summer window to truly flesh out the squad to be in prime rotation form.
Exactly. One example: having now witnessed the importancce of Sarr against certain setups, I can understand now why Ange wanted, specifically, Gallagher so much. In games where Sarr's not playing and the opp. is not low blocking, we lose control of midfield.
But these issues seem solvable. The positions we need and problems we have don't seem like they'll make Levy have a hissy aside from, maaaaaybe, 6. But the recruitment and the system is such that, it seems to me, that we can buy the right players, not necessarily most expesive, wisely. Like Dom.
Shocking first half (kids freezing, older ones off form), better 2nd half. If football matches were 100 minutes we would have strolled it. No injuries, 1 point off top. Turkish kind of delight.
Patchwork Spurs just about hung on against a good Gala team who out-Spursed them with their intensity for 60 minutes until they punched themselves out. 10 man Spurs rallied to threaten the extraordinary & silenced a once raucous atmosphere, but unfortunately could not silence Hoddle & Matterface.
Good thing we got some timely blocks or we could have been embarrassed off the pitch. That being said, they played like a team 10 days off rest and had a full squad. We played 3 teenagers and our backup keeper 🤷
Rode our luck at times, bit like the palace game for the first hour.
Had we kept all 11 on the pitch, I reckon we would’ve won.. no drama tho, this was one game we could afford to lose.. 3 points against Ipswich & I’m a happy man!
We tried over and over again to play out from the back, in the face of a lot of Galatasaray pressure, but the players on the pitch weren't capable of it. Could and should have been out of it by half time.
Somehow we were miles better with 10 men and could have nicked a draw.
Yes definitely. Although no back up CB/LB feels like a missed opportunity. I think the decision to include Bergval in the first team was rash. I think in Donley you probably had a player better prepared to step up. On what I have seen from Bergval this season a loan in jan would benefit him.
Crazy game. Couldn't find a pass 1st 1/2. Luckily their shooting crap as Forster shit, comically at times. Lovely for Lanks to score. Rash moment spoiled it for his 2nd yellow. Much better 2nd half with Lolo in particular, & Sarr & Deki. Lovely Solanke finish. Terrible ref as usual. No injuries.
No return fixtures nowadays unless we draw them in the latter stages. I’m putting the red card down to youthful exuberance and not worrying too much about it
It was totally that with Lankshear, he so wanted to do well he went in when he needed to stand off. He'll learn so much from last night, his good and bad. Hopefully he'll learn the lesson better than Biss last season!

We’ll slap them on the return fixture though.
