This play didn’t work in the US. If he steps down, Canada is doomed. There’s no one else with the experience, skill, and sense to lead the country forward. PP is spineless and will sell the country off. Singh doesn’t have the numbers. BQ same as Singh.

It's past the time that he does. Now he seems like a narcissist trying to convince his caucus the he's not a narcissist. He's making it that much easier for Harper's mouthpiece to come in with a minority party during the next election. Even the NDP will fare better than the Liberals if he stays.

Elections start and Freeland steps in as leadership race and wins in next Federal election. As being the 1st LONG running PM for Canada.

Whether JT resigns or not, I don't see any other outcome to the next election than a Conservative victory. The best case scenario is that the NDP form the official opposition in a minority Conservative gov't.

I don't see how him resigning betters the chances anyway. The LPC needs someone with charisma and popularity to pull the party and its supporters together and consolidate into a strong force. With Freeland and Fraser gone that's... not likely.

There’s no light between Trudeau and Freeland though. She’s been in cabinet forever, minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy PM, minister of Finance… everything this government has done for 10 years has had her playing a big role.
