I spent 40 years keeping my hair cut too short to curl until the pandemic forced me to figure out how to manage it. Obviously it's different at this length but co-wash and gel works for me.

You can retrain curls! FWIW, they're actually not nearly as much work as anyone is making them out to be. I used to straighten my hair daily and gave up. It takes me 3-4 mins after a shower to deal with my hair, when it used to take an +hr to straighten.

Yep. I wash twice a week and all I do after that is throw in some curl cream and a bit of gel and let air dry. On non-wash days, it’s a water spritz and a tiny bit more curl cream raked through. Done.

My friends who straighten take an interminable time to get ready!

Me too! You can get a cut to specifically enhance your hair’s curl type(s) making it even easier to deal with. I don’t even use hair products after the shower.
