Oh, I don't mean those things you mentioned.
I find Dragon Dogma's world is very well crafted in sense of nature. Elevations, beach, ravines... Love just running around.
Especially have soft spot for well made forests in open worlds.
I was having a load of fun for years being 'Amazing Techsupport' the Tech-based defender, not 'The', I was just simply Amazing ;D
Until some dip took umbrage to the name and suddenly I was DefenderXXXX and some GM asked me to pick a new name because my name apparently made people think I was a GM.
It was a X and Y axis simplistic proportion slider, but by fiddling with the two, you could affect not only height, but weight and build. ^^ https://youtu.be/IJKYrPPiKX4?t=151
Full sliding scale of stature is good stuff.
Loved Soul Calibur VI's ability to do that (Except for the fact that all of them had to be some level of beef cake)
I saw this pic and thought Guild Wars 2. Norn are the Big Chubby/Muscular guys, Asura are the small little RAT fellas, You got Humans and Sylvari, the latter of which I'd consider skinny normal heighted guys and gals, and then there's Charr. They're big ol furries.
Granted, it ain't perfect, Norn tend only be chubby in width with no outstretched belly, Humans can only be so tall, and there are no chubby options for Asura (As far as I remember). Of course one must remember it's an MMO that started in 2012, so take that as you will.
Some games that come pretty close come to mind, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, Saints Row 2-4, Rock Band 3, Soul Calibur 5 and 6 has some stuff too, the WWE series... Those are some of my favorites
I want a game that let's me progress through all 9 stages.
Oh, I guess i have it... It's called my life (I'm currently in the final fat tall guy stage).
The true test to me is how they model outfits on these bodies. I see plenty that just stretch the mesh over chubby bodies, which ruins that inclusion by making their outfits distorted.
I'm secretly happy when a character creator has fewer options. Less chance of me spending hours trying to make a character. I've conditioned myself to just always make the most basic character possible whenever there ARE a lot of options for this reason XD
For real! So many games, even ones I love, are like "no chubby people allowed". It really sucks. Honestly was one of the best parts of Fallout 4 for me. You could have all kinds of body types. At least more so than most games give you.
I get why it would be a hassle to implement, but it is a shame more games don't include a variety of body shapes in character creation. More often than not the "Fat option" is a slider that either barely changes body shape or causes animations to clip through the body.

Granted I haven't played most recent one and old one also has issues... but I like it anyway. It's... cozy.

(my partner worked on this feature and I'm very proud of them)

Even when some species in warhammer 40k games like this are male only(space marines) or genderless(orkoids)

for something that's new, I'd say 5-ish years of grace
However that might be a pipe dream.

Which is like halfway between chubby and buff
I mostly just wish more games let you have like...a Laos body type.
