Enjoy Japan my dude! Feb can be an amazing month for skiing/boarding if you're into that, they have some of the best powder in the world over there and it would totally be worth a day if you end up near one of the resorts!
You gotta do what's best for you, sometimes that means changing up how you do things & there's never anything wrong with that. Good on you for taking the time to take a step back to look at things and ask the hard question "What's not working for me?" Lastly, I hope you enjoy your vacation!
