It is frustrating for us at smaller, less powerful schools to know we are just that much more vulnerable because Columbia gave in.

This reminds me of a Best Buy store in Texas that put up a pride flag. MAGA shoppers boycotted saying they would not come back until the flag was taken down. Then once the flag was taken down they said they were going to continue boycotting just because it was put up in the first place.

You cannot negotiate, nor can you barter with people who see your very existence as an existential threat against society and who have no problem going nuclear on the slightest inconvenience to their dominance.
