Aside middle managers self-congratulating at opening an envelope, this is another reason why I’m perplexed by A: narratives on LinkedIn B: folk letting toxic males off on account of possible neurodivergence. If you’re alcoholic and crash your car you don’t get the same treatment. #ye #musk #brand
Something else ‘we need’ to do is recognize that autism for some leads to dysregulation, hitting, acting out sexually & other difficult to manage behaviours - which is WHY we see autistic adults institutionalized way more than we should. As an MD it’s irresponsible not to acknowledge this spectrum
Not sure what you’re implying: are you defending people like Musk, Ye, & Gaiman who have suddenly decided they are autistic as an excuse for bigotry & criminal behaviour? Or are you acknowledging gaps in support for autistic adults with comorbid intellectual disabilities &/or severe mental illness?
I’m questioning any who flatten the actually existing real world challenging behaviours people on the spectrum have, even those with low support needs. ‘Autism is my superpower’ narratives tend to elide all the messy, difficult expressions of these brain-based differences. A deeper convo is needed.

But it makes me pretty ragey when people claim that's a reason for it.
And, really, they're compiling reasons for someone exactly like them to try and "cleanse" us from society.
They are liars and sociopaths, not autistic.
