The military of today has been shaped and molded by ldshp that learned under the tutelage of those who rebuilt it after Vietnam. It was hammered into me as an officer who served the first decade of the 00's to under no circumstances to capitulate to illegal/unethical/immoral orders. 1/x

More than 1/3 of the people serving in the active duty armed forces are minorities (women & men). Do they really think it's a good idea to tell these soldiers that they're frozen at their current ranks because of their race?

When they quit the military, it's not like they forget their training.

Yes, my son is one. He's weeks away from retiring from active duty and has been leaning hard into civil service or contract work. Up in the air now.
