Absolutely backbreaking work that most Americans don’t want to do and immigrants are grateful to do, and then, they are subjected to vile racist attacks and scapegoated for doing jobs that put fresh fruits and vegetables on our tables.
They are called all kinds of names by people “too good to do that work” and yet are the scapegoats for why unqualified people are otherwise unemployed.
Instead if fighting over this we should offer folks partial citizenship. You want to do incredibly hard work without the protection of actual citizenship, okay. Stamped at entry and approved for near slavery. All kids become citizens though. Ok for school, health, WIC, food stamps, etc.
Looks like the only people doing these jobs are those with the drive and courage to walk hundreds or thousands of miles across deserts, mountains and rivers for the opportunity. Just so we don’t have to spend another couple of bucks for a basket of strawberries.
I distinctly remember the creature saying people like Maria were taking black jobs.
In his mind this is a job for black Americans.
Seems an awful job for any human being.
The Moss Landing lithium battery fire last week sent toxic smoke towards the Watsonville, Prunedale and Castroville. I doubt they got a day off even though residents were told to stay inside and keep their windows closed.
I mean, ideally, yes. But some folks aren't concerned with their own exposure, but might be motivated by the occupational exposure of very vulnerable people.
Supermarkets need to do right by her by not only choosing the pretty fruits and vegetables to sell and donating excess to local families in need rather than tossing unused fruits and vegetables in the trash.
Spare a thought for those brave ICE agents who are entering schools. Those are the places Trump said are cutting off everyone's dicks. Thank you for your brave service.

Thank you to all UFW workers.
You are appreciated!
But organic, if only to reduce the exposure for farm workers. (If you can afford it and remain well-fed.)
