My husband and I were at DMV this morning so I could renew my license. I chose to get a Real ID and my husband asked if it was necessary for him to get one, as he's a veteran. He was told that his military ID would be fine.

It's issued by each state, just like a driver's license. I think that the DMV issues it in Oklahoma. It just requires more documentation.

Ohhhh, I think it’s like the enhanced IDs we have here in Michigan, looked it up and they look exactly the same as what we use to travel to Canada so looks like I am set I think🫡

I took my certified birth certificate, a power bill, and had to produce divorce papers due to a name change. A passport is an alternative. I would update DL now before panic in May starts. 💁🏻‍♀️

It’s not hard to get the Real ID. Check your DMV website on what you will need. My dad didn’t have a valid passport so he used his birth certificate.

I heard a few months back that they will be still allowing people to fly without one for the first few months but will give you a warning. That may or may change though.
