There used to be a small community called Cypress Mill just north of Pedernales Falls, near Johnson City. That community had a one-room schoolhouse and that schoolhouse was underneath a huge, blessed live oak tree. In 1875 a photographer came along and took this shot of that one-room schoolhouse.
