An interesting article though for me the headwind for public transit is that my work commute is 7-15 minutes depending on traffic, and 90 minutes (in the optimal traffic times) with three transfers via public transit. If that was 30 minutes, I would opt for public transit.
Yea, the thing is getting it to 30 minutes when every possible customer who would justify that level of investment is also looking at a 10-20 minute drive is just a difficult equation.
I do walk in my neighborhood, to grocery shop, and the various restaurants and my bar. The only good thing about the Winslow for me is the CVS for pharmacy needs, just blocks away.
If I don't need a car full of stuff, walking is my main mode of transport.
Absolutely. Getting me from uptown to Mission Bay would be great. I don't know the demand for that route, but it's gonna keep from using it until then.
My other Job is downtown. 35 minutes on a bus isn't bad. Now it's about not working weird hours before or after the routes are closed.
