Loved this meditation on Local Hero -- it's in my all time Top 5 films. There's no upper limit to how many times I'll watch this movie. A true gem.
(It's rentable/watchable various places but personally you will never pry my Criterion LH Blu Ray from my hand, physical media endures etc etc etc)

For The Reveal, it's a new entry in my '80s in 40 series: a look at Bill Forsyth's LOCAL HERO. It's a delightful movie, and one that keeps revealing depths the more you think about it (and the more time passes):

"Normal. Extra normal."
“You want to buy my church?”
“Well, not as a going concern.”
I might have to pop it in tonight.
Fort William to Mallaig on the Jacobite [Harry Potter] Steam Train.
Glencoe (we're McDonalds).
Skye.
Edinburgh.
I may not return and I'm only half kidding.
And the score by Mark Knopfler still evokes and rocks.
Local Hero, The Secret of Roan Innish, and
Waking Ned Devine are three of my happy places.

Two measures in and the waterworks begin.
