Yep. For over 2 years now, union workers have been trying to negotiate a fair contract. NLRB found that Audubon advanced benefits to non- union workers, but did not advance those same benefits to union workers.

Just because Audubon is a nonprofit, doesn't mean they are altruistic. The Florida Audubon has always been kind of janky so I guess I wasn't really surprised by the national org's challenge to NLRB's authority. But their legal decision could have a major impact on donations. Poor foresight.

My wife worked there for 13 years, and worked directly with C-level leadership so was unfortunately ineligible for the union. There's some real dysfunction near the top. Audubon can afford to pay their people, and fighting the union is such a bad look.

The biggest, oldest environmental organizations are run by and serve elites. World Wildlife Fund is similar.

We've recognized this within the environmental movement for at least 25 years but it's not widely known by the public. The environmental justice movement first pointed it out.
