Once you’ve cleared H Potter off your shelves, may I recommend filling that space with the splendid fantasies of Diana Wynne Jones? Not only are her stories of magical education far more fun & better written than Rowling’s flabby books, but she is one of the ur sources who JKR stole from wholesale.
