Science communication is a critical skill that I encourage in all of the sciences and especially for graduate students in learning environments to take the time to understand and learn.

“Making data and research results usable, easily accessible, entertaining, and understandable by non-scientists and decision makers takes major funding, not just lip service.”
To understand this from academic perspectives look up 1) philosophy of science, 2) science diplomacy; 3) knowledge translation, 3) boundary spanning, & 4) communications science as well as good examples of clear communication from other ways of knowing by @kylewhyte.bsky.social & Nicole Redvers.
Understand that there is not only one way of understanding the world. You may know mixed #methods but do you understand mixed #methodologies? (Indigenous, feminist, critical, and other ways of understanding knowing, being, valuing, and ultimately science are critical to engage)
This is a time for science diplomacy, talking to policy makers as well as others across the globe! Learn how your work engages with planetary health, sustainability, food #security, #biodiversity, and more for people to understand not only the importance but what you are saying.
Engage with others to understand their values and how you can better communicate with them across the values you may share. This is critical, especially at this moment in time.
