Of the ~dozen messages I received, they were a combination of crypto scammers, Onlyfans cosplayers & a few creepers blended together with some genuine & kind souls introducing themselves within their cultural norms & people seeking genuine connection. I try to give *most the benefit of doubt
I started out trying to leave them open but got nothing but men (often very decent looking) with beards and multiple pics of themselves with their wealthy-looking surroundings and possessions. No thanks.
Try this one on for size usually I get these people sliding into my DM like no big deal but just today I had one DM me asking me permission if he could DM me He's a respectful disrespectful shit
I just looked and I couldn’t DM you if I wanted to. I think past conversations or messages sent to you can continue after you turn DM’s off. I think you have to swipe left and leave the conversation to disengage all contact
I appreciate your perspective. I try to be kind & thoughtful. A few messages seemed genuine & sincere while others were obvious. I care deeply & I don’t like creating waves or appearing rude. The dichotomy of engaging through kindness & connection while filtering true intentions is not easy
Right? I respect public peoples' names and bios as "who they are or want to be," but I have great suspicion on someone who wants to a. know how I am, b. know where I live, c. give me money, d. sign me up for something, e. sell me something, or f. have me donate for something.
Same here, very creepy. I can usually always predict who is going to DM me too. Man wearing a hat, dogs or kids in their profile pic and hardly any posts!
so true. That's an immediate block from me, I don't care who it is!?! I don't stop to analyze WHY they might have DM'd me. I just block and move on. :)
Yea, that's one of my pet peeves too! I got (and immediately blocked) them all the time until someone pointed out that we can disable PM/chat for everybody!
Hello Lisa, pls be very careful with any accounts that claim to be Ukrainian soldiers. Especially any who DM you for help. They’re fake accounts that try to scam people. You can vet them using information by the scam library from the Verification Unit here:
No worries, most of us have advanced degrees in reading and interpreting goofs in text messages and social media posts. A quick edit button would be helpful (say 1 min. to correct).
A diverse community of bitcoin, porn bot, Russian Psyop, ecclesiastical and cosplay participants of all ages, walks of life & gender 😅 Being an introvert amplifies my sense of cringe. I have to push through my personal comfort level just to drop into the comments & participate in civil discourse 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah, to me this is 100% sus, especially if the message just says "Hi!" or "Hey, how are you doing today?" etc. (although it's entirely possible this is just normal American friendly behavior that I'm radically misinterpreting :D)
Have my DMs set to people I follow only. If I follow you and you DM me, you are gone. Unless it's really a decent DM.... had a lovely convo with someone about their dog. I had invited her to DM me so we could discuss some issues she was having with him.
I block immediately and leave the conversation. Creeps me out, too. Yet to get a legitimate question for a side discussion. Not that I want that anyway.

In my profile clearly stated, DM =immediate Block 🚫
Since then - peace and quiet 😎😁
